Svenska Bilsportförbundet has set a national standard for official safety notes. The main part of the competitors use a descriptive system, but one third of the users use a mixture of a figure based and a descriptive system which is increasing in popularity. Translations into Norwegian and english notes are available on request on international events.

The following abbreviations are used:

Grade of corner (describes mainly the angle of the steering wheel or radius of the corner) and direction

All grades of corners are given before direction for descriptive grades and after when grade is given as a figure.

Distance in meters between objects. Distance from start of stage is given at start of every line. Distance to end of stage is given at end of every line. 100/Kr (100/vsk) means distance 100 measured from previous note over crest (or junction) to next note(10), 20, 30, 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, 150, 180
